Have you ever wondered what it’s like to fill the role of a Board of Education member? Are you interested in giving back to our community, and supporting D38 staff and students?
If so, we’d like to invite you to an informational session about serving as a Board of Education Director in D38.
This November, D38 will have two seats open on the Board of Education. The seats represent Director District 1 and Director District 3. You can view our Director District Maps for details and to confirm you are a resident of those areas. Director District boundaries ensure that school board candidates are distributed districtwide. Although candidates must reside in their district, directors are elected by a districtwide ballot.
The two open seats will be vacated by President Tiffiney Upchurch, who is term-limited, and Vice President Kris Norris, who is moving out of the area.
Two informational sessions are scheduled in July.
Tuesday, July 29 from 6:00–7:30 p.m.
Lewis-Palmer Middle School
Wednesday, July 30 from 6:00–7:30 p.m.
Palmer Lake Elementary School
Board members and others from the District 38 Team will be present at each session to engage with our community, and to answer questions about the process and role.
Whether you are just starting to consider the opportunity, or already know that running is of interest to you, attending one of these meetings is a great first step. We look forward to seeing interested community members at these sessions on July 29th and 30th.
