Few things in life give you the feeling of a new school year. The most invigorating part about this feeling is that it is an experience nearly every one of us shares. For our students, each new year brings the possibility of meeting new friends, discovering a new club or hobby, and continuing to cultivate personal growth and the pursuit of future plans. For our staff, we rally around the opportunity to support and elevate each and every student as well as grow and hone our professional skills together as a team. For our families, we value your persistent efforts and active partnerships in the continued growth of our students, who represent the future of our region, state and nation.
The new year also provides a chance for us to reflect on our challenges and recommit to our pursuit of continuous improvement and excellence in everything we do. As our team continues to grow and improve, we want you to know that we are rallying this year around shared values with the goal of empowering all learners in our education community. To this end, we want to share our newly published vision statement alongside our mission, strategic plan, and core values with each of you, Elevating the Futures of Every Student Every Day.
Throughout this school year, we hope you see D38’s growth in a number of ways, and importantly, we hope you see the impact a strong school system has on each and every student. Over the past year, we worked to articulate this impact in our newly finalized Portraits of a Graduate and Educator, and we look forward to making these guiding documents both visible and accessible to all. You will hear these documents referenced throughout this year in our district meetings, in our schools and beyond.
We can only improve as a school district with the support of our staff, families and our community working together, and we want to invite you to contribute to the future success of Lewis-Palmer School District 38. There is no shortage of opportunities to partner with our team, and help move District 38 forward. We look forward to welcoming you in, partnering with you and seeing you at one of our many events throughout this school year.
The 2023-2024 School Year is sure to be one of our best yet, and our entire team is grateful for the opportunity to serve our community’s students.
