English Learner Professional Development
CLDE Professional Development Information
To help better support students in Colorado who are English Language Learners, the State Board of Education established requirements for educators to complete 45 clock hours of Culturally Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) professional development. These 45 clock hours can be included in the 90 clock hour re-licensure commitment. There are many pathways for educators to complete this one time requirement. For more information about options in Lewis-Palmer School district or questions about the details of meeting this requirement, please contact Katie Scott.

Project Momentum
We’re excited to share that enrollment has reopened for “Empowering Educators of Multilingual Learners”, Project Momentum’s course approved by the Colorado Department of Education to meet the 45-hour English Learner PD renewal requirement. This course remains free of charge for the 25-26 academic year. This fully online, self-paced course is structured into three modules and provides a certificate that counts toward both the English Learner PD requirement and the 90 hours required for license renewal.
12-week sessions: You must enroll and complete the course within a defined session. Certificates will be issued within 14 days of the end of each session. If you need your certificate sooner (for example, for an upcoming license renewal deadline), you may request an expedited review and certificate.
Capped Enrollment: Each session will be limited to 250 participants, accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for a session will close once it is full, or two weeks before the session deadline—whichever comes first.
Applications: To reserve your spot, you must submit an application confirming your commitment to complete the course. You will receive verification within 5 business days, and course access will be granted on the session start date.
Returning Participants: If you were previously enrolled and saved your course packets, you will be able to pick up where you left off after re-registering. Use your course packet to find the lesson you left off on. Please note that we verify completion based on submitted course packets, not the checkmarks that appear when you complete the lessons in the platform.

Winter 2026, Enrollment Window: 12/15 – 3/15, Course Window: 1/1 – 3/31
Spring 2026, Enrollment Window: 3/15 – 6/15, Course Window: 4/1 – 6/30
