April 29, 2026
Dear D38 Families and Staff,
Winter weather is predicted for the Palmer Divide Region on Thursday and Friday of this week. We are closely monitoring multiple forecasts and any potential impacts for our district. At this time, we are planning on a normal schedule for Thursday, April 30 as any impactful snow is predicted for the late afternoon and evening. Our weather team will continue to monitor conditions, and will notify families and staff of any changes to our schedule, if needed.
As always, it is a parent’s decision to make the best choice for their family regarding whether or not to send their child to school on a weather-impacted day. If your student will be absent, please be sure to call the school to notify them of the absence.
We encourage you to keep an eye on D38 communication channels and local TV stations for updates on any after-school or evening cancellations or closures/delays. We appreciate your trust and support as we make all of our weather decision calls.
Sincerely,
Amy Matisek
Director of Communications,
