Safety and Security

Safety First sign

The safety and welfare of our students and staff is most important. Since a crisis can occur at any time, whether natural or man-made, it is critical that we are prepared and remain proactive. The Lewis-Palmer School District has district and school level emergency plans that encompass an all-hazards approach to safety and security. These plans are reviewed and updated annually to ensure that we are current with local, state and federal guidelines. Additionally, our district has partnered with local and county law enforcement and emergency responders to help keep our schools safe.

Goals

  • Fiscal Planning
Continuous review of safety and security equipment and procedures, maximizing security and ensuring fiscal responsibility.

  • Family/Student Partnerships
Continue to foster positive working relationships with our families to ensure mental health and safety of our faculty, staff, and students.

  • Safety and Security Evolution
Keep up to date with the most recent homeland security and NIMS announcements; adjust district procedures accordingly.
