Forensics (Speech and Debate)

Forensics/Speech is designed to not only educate students in the basics of speech, theatre, and debate, but also to provide Lewis-Palmer High School with a competitive forensics team to compete in state and national events. Students will learn the ins and outs of debate (Public Forum and Lincoln Douglas) and speaking events (Original Oratory, Duo, Humorous, Dramatic, and Poetry Interpretation, and Extemporaneous Speaking). Throughout the course of the year, students will learn to enhance their critical thinking skills through analysis of current events, hone their research skills, develop effective, confident, public speaking skills, and appreciate the ethical considerations associated with persuasion.

We meet 2-3 times per week after school in the Ranger Zone Loft from 3:00-5:00 p.m. We start in August and end in March, and students are encouraged to come up anytime throughout the year (it's never too late to join). Days vary, depending on my availability, please check this page for next week's meeting days.
