MARCH 2026:
Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) club to Denver for International Women’s Day, which was once again, a phenomenal event on a snow Friday!
Eight students from the WISE club of LPHS attended World Denver’s International Women’s Day. Highlights included meeting the keynote speaker, the first female President of Costa Rica, and hearing from a panel of CEOs spanning the medical and global trade industries. They also saw Water for People honored for their innovative work in equipping communities around the world with lasting clean water access.

FEBRUARY 2026:
*** LP SPEECH AND DEBATE: We had a great National Qualifier tournament this weekend at Pine Creek High School, with many standout performances and a tremendous team effort. With over 20 schools competing, here are our results:
Informative Speaking: Grayson Hester- 1st place and qualified for nationals
Dramatic Interpretation- Rylee Call- 1st place and qualified for nationals
Humorous Interpretation- Kayla Perkins- 1st place and qualified for nationals. Andrew Kandrak- 2nd place and qualified for nationals.
Program Oral Interpretation- Jada Roberson- 2nd place and qualified for nationals
Original Oratory- Julianna Wainright- 2nd place and qualified for nationals
International Extemporaneous Speaking- Jada Roberson- 2nd place and qualified for nationals
Duo Interpretation- Carmina Cardenas and Neveah Knowles- 4th place and alternates for nationals.
In Congress, Alaura Byrn and Julianna Wainright qualified for nationals, with Grayson Hester and Beckett Beagley as alternates
Additionally, Beckett Beagley will represent our district at nationals in World Schools Debate
School awards for the National Qualifying Tournaments: 1st place in Speech, 2nd place Overall (Speech and Debate). 1st place in Congressional Debate.
***HOSA: Great Success at the state leadership conference at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center, where our delegation participated in symposiums, networking with industry professionals at the expo, hands-on workshops, and academic competition. This conference had over 2300 competitors- the biggest ever. Lewis-Palmer showed up in a big way, bringing home a record breaking number of awards and international qualifiers. JANUARY 2026:
***The LP Rock Climbing Team is headed to Regionals with our largest group of qualifiers since 2018! Congratulations to the following climbers: Brooke Douglas, Reese Douglas, Layne Berger, Colin Campbell, Ziegan Ludwig, Sean Pope, Finn Hulsey, Finn Jones, and Kasen Mast. You can come cheer on our climbers on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Gripstone Climbing Gym in Colorado Springs from 9-noon. Good luck, and let's get qualified for State!
***Congratulations to Mr. Sam Anderson - At the CMEA conference this week, he was awarded Outstanding Young Music Educator!!
***Our JAZZ BAND did a fantastic job representing LPHS at the CMEA conference last week!
*** LP Theater students attended the Pikes Peak Region Invitational One Act Competition and performed incredibly! LP won titles for best supporting actor- Ben Egbert, and best actor- Jonathan Lilley. LPHS was the only school to win two awards. This year they ranked the shows, and LP Theater won 1st Place! Congratulations, students, and Mrs. Lilley!
DECEMBER 2025:
Thirteen students from Lewis-Palmer Middle School, Lewis-Palmer High School, and Palmer Ridge High School were recognized for their stellar vocal talents. Through a rigorous competition, they were selected to make the All State Choir. Congratulations, students, and thank you to the amazing educators who help bring out their talents!
