    Why We Teach

At Ray E. Kilmer Elementary, we are dedicated to educating all students, honoring their individual growth, monitoring their achievements, and celebrating their successes. We set the foundation for lifelong learning, character development and the desire to achieve.  We value the relationships with our school community and embrace a partnership of learning.  It is our goal to create a trusting and safe environment where parents are proud to send their children and students are excited to attend.

  • Harvest of Love Food Drive

Annually, the Kilmer K-Kids work with our local Kiwanis Club and Tri-Lakes Cares to collect food that benefits needy families in the Tri-Lakes area.

    When: Oct. 3 - 31

What: Non-perishable food items or personal hygiene products

Suggested items include: cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix, syrup, canned meats, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned meals/soups, baking supplies, boxed food items, even personal hygiene items.  Keep in mind that we are approaching the holidays, so items that would help make a holiday meal are in great demand.

Cash Donation: If you prefer to make a monetary contribution, checks should be made payable to Tri-Lakes Cares with Food Drive in the memo portion.

This year we are trying something new. In the past we have had a friendly competition to see which classroom brings in the most food.  This year we are having a “Choose Your Favorite “ theme each week in which students vote for their favorite by putting their donated food items in the box of their choice. Here are the themes:

October 3-9 Favorite Disney Movie -- Toy Story, Lion King, or Aladdin

October 10-16 Favorite Super Heroes -- Marvel Avengers or DC Justice League

October 17-23 Favorite Star Wars Character -- Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker

October 24-31 Favorite Pet -- Dogs or Cats

Please send in those non-perishable items (especially canned and boxed items) and vote for/support your favorite each week.  Thank you for supporting us in this worthy cause.
