Kindergarten

Dear Families,

Welcome to Kilmer Elementary Kindergarten!  Kindergarten is one of the most vital experiences in a child's life.  It creates a feeling of self-confidence and brings opportunities for learning that have a lifelong impact on a child's later success.  By providing a positive atmosphere where a child can work and play and by offering developmentally appropriate activities, we will support the development of responsible and independent learners. We look forward to our partnership with you during this special year!

Warmly,

Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Gerlach

First Day of Kindergarten 2023

We would like to welcome you to Kindergarten and to our family here at Kilmer Elementary!  In order to be sure your child has a great first day we have a staggered start for incoming kindergartners.  This means that the class is divided into two sections and each section has a different “first” day of school.  This allows for students to get comfortable with their teacher and classroom in a small group setting.  Section A students will attend their first day of kindergarten on Tuesday, August 15th.  Section B students will attend their first day of kindergarten on Wednesday, August 16th.  ALL kindergarteners will attend their second day of school together on Thursday, August 17th just like normal schedule.  Please be on the look out for a letter mailed in the first week of August informing you of your child's start date.

The first day will follow the regular Kindergarten schedule: 9:00a.m - 4:00 p.m.  Your child may enter the classroom through the exterior door on the west side of the building - The classroom door will be labeled with our name on the door. Doors will be open at 9:00 a.m. Parents may pick up their child at the same location. Students riding the bus home will be escorted to their bus each day at dismissal and parents can meet them at their neighborhood bus stop.

Finally, please don’t forget to attend the Welcome Back/ Ice Cream Social on August 14th from 12:00pm-2:00pm.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Brown and  Mrs. Gerlach
