Kilmer Career Day sign

Kilmer Elementary students got the chance to explore a world of possibilities during Career Day on Feb. 5.

Career Day took over the school as students hopped from classroom to classroom during two sessions throughout the day. In each room, students heard presentations from a wide variety of professionals and got the chance to ask questions about the speakers' jobs. Some presentations were even interactive.

Students were able to meet healthcare heroes, military and commercial pilots, first responders, writers, business professionals, and even a horse trainer. CTE Welding and Construction Teacher at Lewis-Palmer High School, Andy Vrieze also gave a presentation. He brought along some of his Welding and Construction students to speak to Kilmer students as well.

Career Day at Kilmer Elementary was a great example of the impact the greater community has on D38 and our students. The constant commitment from our community is a huge part of what makes D38 an incredible place to live and learn.

We are so grateful to the professionals who took time out of their busy schedules to share their journeys, answer questions, and encourage our students to believe in themselves. The future is bright in D38!
