School Advisory Committee (SAC)

SAC is made up of parent representatives, teacher/staff representatives, community representatives, and the Lewis-Palmer Elementary principal, as required by Colorado law. Its goal is to provide a forum for communication and collaboration in order to monitor and enhance the quality of education for our students. The Advisory Committee provides parents, the community, teaching staff, school administration, and the school district the means to advise and discuss education at Lewis-Palmer Elementary School, share ideas, review policies, and provide feedback to school administration and the D38 school district. A partial list of topics discussed includes: school performance, school improvement plans, enrichment, policies, initiatives, curriculum, involvement, school safety, and budget.

LPES SAC is a member of the District Accountability Advisory Committee (DAAC). DAAC meetings and locations are listed on the district website. School district advisory committees are required by Colorado School Law. DAAC's function is "to make recommendations to the Board of Education relative to the Accountability and Colorado Accreditation Program."
