Music is a life passion of mine and it is a privilege to share it with all students at Lewis-Palmer Elementary. Students at LPES are active music makers as they learn that music is understanding, discovery, and skill development. Together, students and I work to foster independent minds, appreciation & habits. Students perform, sing, move, listen, create, and read & write music in my class. It is with these skill applications that we encourage the aesthetic senses of a child. I believe that music is an extraordinary tool for understanding the various cultures of our nation and world because it cultivates acceptance and understanding.

This school year is my 27th year of teaching music in an elementary setting. I am a native of the Pikes Peak Region and participate as an active musician in various ensembles. My family and I reside in Monument and we are fully vested in the Lewis-Palmer School District as homeowners, teachers, students, and parents within this community. I am married and a mother to 17-year-old twins that keep me busy and smiling on a daily basis.

Classroom Expectations…

Students in music class are expected to SOAR with the rest of the Eagles. At Lewis-Palmer Elementary, we always do what is right.
