You can help - Education Funding in Colorado - contact your legislator
Colorado’s growth should benefit all families and communities. Colorado has been underfunding education for so long that things like teacher pay, special education, and mental health services have suffered.
Contact your legislator and tell them to prioritize education funding: https://kidsmattertoo.org/contact-legislators/

Any LPSD employee, community member, or student is eligible to receive the award. Recipients of the award are nominated based on the fact that their devotion to a student with a disability has made that student’s life better.

FREE Medical and Dental Care
The Ronald McDonald Care Unit has begun a new program of bringing their FREE Mobile Care Units directly to schools in El Paso County providing dental and medical services to all children under 21 years of age. These services will be at no cost to the families. The Unit will take insurance and Medicaid, but if for any reason Medicaid or private health insurance would deny the claim, then Peak Vista Community Health Centers will cover the cost and there will be no charge to the families. Parents will need to accompany children under 18 to the unit.
More information regarding services and dates here.
Information Systems Security Update
LPSD actively secures and protects our information systems. In light of recent cybersecurity events involving schools around the nation, we want to remind our families of the deliberate actions LPSD employs to protect student data. Detailed information available here.
ELECTRONIC FLYER DELIVERY - PEACHJAR
Lewis-Palmer School District will begin delivering school information and approved flyers from community organizations electronically with Peachjar on January 26, 2018.
These school-approved eflyers will be emailed directly to you from LewisPalmerSchoolDistrictfirstname.lastname@example.org. Additionally, you will be able to view eflyers by clicking the Peachjar button on your school’s website homepage (active January 26, 2018). This “green” initiative saves our schools tons of paper and reduces copy costs by thousands of dollars. On top of that, posting school flyers in this electronic backpack removes a significant administrative burden from teachers, office staff, and volunteers.
