  • D38  Deliberates: A Community Engagement Opportunity
    The public is invited to this community engagement opportunity on Monday, November 6, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. in the District Administration Building.  Two very important topics of interest to the D38 and Tri-Lakes communities will be addressed:  future options for D38 6th grade students and use of the Grace Best facility.  A trained facilitator will lead small group discussions.   • DAAC 6th Grade Public Forum
    The D38 District Accountability Advisory Committee (DAAC) will be conducting a public forum on Tuesday, October 24, at 6:00 p.m. to discuss 6th grade options, specifically in regard to returning 6th grade to the middle school level.  The public is invited to submit questions for consideration at this event.  Send questions to DAAC@lewispalmer.org.

  • Monument Academy High School Expansion Application

    Monument Academy Charter School has submitted the required application materials to expand enrollment to grades 9-12, beginning with ninth grade enrollment for the 2019-2020 school year.  The application and supporting documentation are available for download here.

    This application will be reviewed at the DAAC meeting at 6:00 p.m. on November 14, 2017, and will be presented at a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on November 16, 2017, prior to the regular monthly meeting of the Lewis-Palmer Board of Education.  The Board will consider the application for formal approval at this same meeting.

    AfterMath free math tutoring at the Monument Library is returning for its seventh year. This service supports every grade level on Mondays from 3:30 – 7:00 p.m. beginning Monday, September 11.

    Two LPSD school board director seats will be up for election in November 2017.  These two seats - Director District 1 and Director District 3 - will be for 4-year terms.  Details on candidate eligibility, the election process and timeline, and other important election details can be found here.

    Lewis-Palmer School District’s credit rating is again Aa2 which is above the nationwide school district median. Moody’s Investors Service, an independent credit rating agency, judged LPSD’s  financial position as very strong exhibiting sound financial management.

    Come for the Fair and stay for the Read S'More Read-a-Thon!

     

    Thursday, October 26th, from 4:00 - 6:15PM

     

    Our Read-a-Thon will include fun activities while you shop, including book readings by local high school students, western-themed snacks, crafts, and book raffles every 15 minutes*

     

    We are looking for 5-6 small, free-standing dome tents to be used during the Read-a-Thon.  If you have a tent that you would be willing to loan, please contact Christin Horky (horkychris@gmail.com)

     

    *No child care provided and you must be present to win.

  • Pledge PWES Parents of Students in Grades 1 through 5

     

    Fox 21 News would like to visit Prairie Winds on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, and videotape our students reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.  Grades 1 through 5 will be the participating grades.  The film footage of our students reciting the Pledge of Allegiance will be broadcast on various mornings during the school year.  In order for your child to participate in the grade level filming of the Pledge of Allegiance, Fox 21 requires that a Tape/Talent Release be completed for each participating student.  NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE FILMING WITHOUT COMPLETING AND SIGNING THE RELEASE.  These releases must be turned in NO LATER THAN Tuesday, OCT. 17, 2017.  Only one student per release form, please.
