  • FREE Medical and Dental Care
The Ronald McDonald Care Unit has begun a new program of bringing their FREE Mobile Care Units directly to schools in El Paso County providing dental and medical services to all children under 21 years of age. These services will be at no cost to the families. The Unit will take insurance and Medicaid, but if for any reason Medicaid or private health insurance would deny the claim, then Peak Vista Community Health Centers will cover the cost and there will be no charge to the families. Parents will need to accompany children under 18 to the unit.

More information regarding services and dates here.

The CDE provides an overview and information about these frameworks here.

Additionally, three LPSD schools are John Irwin award recipients:
    Prairie Winds Elementary
    Ray E. Kilmer Elementary, and
    Lewis-Palmer High School.

This award is given to schools that demonstrate exceptional academic achievement over time. These schools received an Exceeds Expectations rating on the Academic Achievement indicator of the School Performance Frameworks reflecting exceptional performance in Math, English Language Arts, and Science. More information is available in Schoolview here

If you want more information regarding LPSD and other Colorado districts' data, the CDE provides an online resource called DISH available here.
