Superintendent Search Update & Invitation for Input

The Board of Education met in an executive session on May 7 to reflect on superintendent candidate finalist interviews that took place after yesterday’s work session.

After thoughtful discussion, the Board has decided to prioritize one candidate, Amber Whetstine, for the purpose of contract negotiations.

“On behalf of the Board of Education, I would like to thank both candidates for the time and energy they put into this process,” said Tiffiney Upchurch, President of the Board. “We’re also incredibly grateful for the staff, parents, and community members who participated on the advisory committee, and for those who submitted desired attributes or interview questions. We are excited to take this next step toward naming the district’s new leader.”

The Board will formally act and vote on this at their regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 19. Keep an eye on D38 communication channels for more updates.
