The Lewis-Palmer School District 38 Board of Education is at full strength once again following the swearing-in of Kris Norris to be the Director of District 1.
As a Board of five filled seats again, it was required to reorganize and elevate new officers where appropriate. Following nominations and a vote, the new structure of the Board of Education is as follows:
Tiffiney Upchurch, President
Kris Norris, Vice President
Ron Schwarz, Treasurer
Theresa Phillips, Secretary
Matthew Clawson, Director of District 5
“Any time we have a new Board member, it means we have a new Board, and we go through transitions. I’m confident that we will all stay focused on the good work we have before us and stay true to our priorities and commitments to our students and our staff,” Upchurch said during her Board comments. “I’m looking forward to the continued work we will do together.
Upchurch and her fellow Board members welcomed Norris during his first meeting, and thanked him for his willingness to serve.
“I’m glad to be here, and I’m looking forward to the task,” Norris simply said after being sworn in.
The Board of Education will meet four times throughout the end of the school year, including for its next work session on May 2, and a regular meeting on May 15.
