Gifted and Talented Education

"Gifted and talented children" means those persons between the ages of five and twenty-one whose abilities, talents, and potential for accomplishment are so exceptional or developmentally advanced that they require special provisions to meet their educational needs. Lewis-Palmer District 38's Gifted and Talented Education department provides for identification and programming for these unique individuals.

Bear Creek Elementary School has talented educators with significant experience and training in meeting the needs of gifted students across the board. These same educators are very adept at pinpointing academic talents and needs as well as offering clever and engaging educational experiences.

  • Primary students receive differentiated instruction on a daily basis from their classroom teacher.

  • 4th and 5th grade gifted students receive daily services in their area of giftedness from the Gifted and Talented Education facilitator.

  • 6th grade gifted students have their academic needs met by an incredible team of educators who each specialize on one subject.
