Google Apps for Education (GAFE)
Lewis-Palmer School District (LPSD) is rolling out Google Apps for Education (GAFE) - another way in which we help LPSD students develop necessary skills for the future. Google Apps is a free suite of communication and collaboration tools which includes Google Classroom, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Drive, Sheets, Slides, and Sites—for learning anywhere, anytime, on any device.
More information is available under the Educational Technology page and at https://www.google.com/edu/products/productivity-tools/.
LPSD did not experience a data breach.
More information available here.
Here is Applied Trust's official statement related to the investigation. Their full report of LPSD's data and system security practices will be forthcoming upon completion of the audit. LPSD will use Applied Trust's recommendations from their final report to further strengthen systems.

PWES Parents of Students in Grades 1 through 5
Fox 21 News would like to visit Prairie Winds on Wednesday, October 25, 2016, and videotape our students reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Grades 1 through 5 will be the participating grades. The film footage of our students reciting the Pledge of Allegiance will be broadcast on various mornings during the school year. In order for your child to participate in the grade level filming of the Pledge of Allegiance, Fox 21 requires that a Tape/Talent Release be completed for each participating student. NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE FILMING WITHOUT COMPLETING AND SIGNING THE RELEASE. These releases must be turned in NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 17th, 2016. Only one student per release form, please.
School Supplies for 2016-2017
If you ordered your school supplies through Edukit, they will be in the classroom on the first day of school. For questions about Edukits, please contact Alisa Stokes at email@example.com; or phone: (219)309-4572.
In the spirit of service and stewardship, we are always collecting the following at Prairie Winds:
TerraCycle program items: variety of empty food wrappers and pouches, writing instruments, oral care items, tape dispensers, personal care/beauty items and aluminum beverage containers. Please contact the front office, check the school website or browse the school information rack for more details.
Children’s books: Bring a book, take a book at the Little Lending Library in the Commons area. A great way to pass along all of those books you have outgrown to a new reader.
Please collect items at home throughout the school year, and drop them off at the front office or send them in with your student.
How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.
"You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives."
