Colorado knowledge bowl

After students on the Palmer Ridge High School Knowledge Bowl team advanced from the state-level competition, they moved onto a national battle of the brains in May, setting new records for the program in the process.

The national tournament consisted of a written round, four oral rounds and a championship round. Only the top teams during the day qualified for the final championship round. According to Sharon Brady, a math teacher at Palmer Ridge High School, the students finished third in their division during the competition, the highest finish in program history.

“These kids never cease to amaze me with their incredible breadth of knowledge,” said Brady. “Please congratulate our players that competed, seniors Zoe Johnson and Jack Vandenbussche and juniors Lawson McVay, Cole Wickert and Nate Sapp.”

Earlier in the spring semester, the PRHS Knowledge Bowl team also impressed at the state level, notching up a second-place victory for 4A, earning their invitation to the national competition.
