Citizen Comments at School Board Meetings

It is important to note that a regular meeting of the Board of Education is a meeting of the Board, held in public. This is different from a public meeting where there is widespread participation by those who attend. Nevertheless, the Board welcomes input from citizens during the Citizens’ Comments portion of the meeting which is usually near the beginning of the agenda. Those who wish to address the Board may do so by signing the Citizens’ Comments sheet located in the front of the Board meeting room. Patrons are asked to confine their comments to no more than three minutes duration. Specific comments regarding district staff should first be addressed to the superintendent in writing. The superintendent is responsible for supervising all staff and will involve the Board as necessary.
