Enrollment Analysis: Pikes Peak Area Schools

Each year, LPSD38 submits the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for review to the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO). The ASBO has awarded LPSD38 the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting each time the district has submitted the report, with the most recent award given for the fiscal year ended 2017.

At the state level, the Colorado Association of School Business Officials (CASBO) is part of the ASBO and the Pikes Peak Area School Business Officials group (PPASBO) is a sub-group of CASBO. The PPASBO is made up of CFOs of school districts from Douglas County to Pueblo and Cripple Creek to the high plains of Peyton and Calhan.

As part of their work, the PPASBO completes a number of comparisons between school districts in the Pikes Peak area. The document below analyzes reports related to student count from the Colorado Department of Education and provides the inflow and outflow of students between districts in the Pikes Peak area from the 2009-2010 school year to the 2017-2018 school year.

  • The percentage of students choosing choice enrollment has increased year-over-year. The area average for the 2017-2018 school year was 16.02%.
  • D38's net inflow for the 2017-2018 school year was 35 students on a districtwide basis (this includes Monument Academy students).
