Dr. Jessica Miller
Hello, my name is Jessica Miller and I am thrilled to be the School Psychologist at Bear Creek. I grew up in Monument and I am so excited to be back home and working in this incredible district! I earned my PhD in School Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley and this will be my fifth year working at Bear Creek. Prior to this, I earned my BA in Psychology, with a minor in History from UNC. I am also one of the faculty sponsors for Bear Creek's K-Kids club. In my free time, I love spending time with my husband, Jake, and our dog, Jolie.
I love finding ways to help each child be successful academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally and look forward to meeting you all this year! Please feel free to contact me by phone or email with any questions or concerns you may have.
If you're not familiar with what school psychologists do, here is a brief explanation from the National Association of School Psychologists: "School psychologists are uniquely qualified members of school teams that support students’ ability to learn and teachers’ ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community."
