Mrs. Lois Cavera
Welcome to my classroom! I have been teaching at Kilmer for seventeen years. I have taught kindergarten, first, and second grade. My husband and I have been married for 32 years and have three grown children ages 28, 26, and 24. We have been blessed with two grandchildren and are anticipating the arrival of a third in December! My husband and I have lived in Colorado for many years and we enjoys hiking, biking, and exploring the beauty of our great state. These days I also love to travel and make frequent trips to visit my grandchildren that live out of state.
I am excited to meet my new kindergarteners and look forward to partnering with parents to help their children learn and grow this year!
Welcome to Kindergarten! Kindergarten is one of the most vital experiences in a child's life. It creates a feeling of self-confidence and brings opportunities for learning that have a lifelong effect on a child's later success. By providing a positive atmosphere where a child can work and play and by offering developmentally appropriate activities, we will initiate the development of responsible and independent learners who can function successfully in school and society.
Kindergarten Curriculum: The emphasis of the kindergarten curriculum is to provide learning experiences for the whole child. Different learning activities will be used that engage the student. There will be large and small group instruction as well as individual instruction throughout the year.
