Mrs. Susan Sparks
This year begins my 15th year teaching in the Lewis-Palmer School District, my 14th year at LPHS, and my 35rd year teaching young adults. Needless to say, I ♥ school; and I believe that is because everything we do is about learning.
Prior to moving to Colorado, I taught English in TN, PA, AZ, FL, GA, and TX. Yes, my family moved often due to my husband's military and post-military career. My undergraduate degree was earned at UNL (Go Huskers!), and my teaching career began immediately after graduation in a small middle school in Del Rio, TX, where most of my students spoke English as a second language. Since then, I have had the privilege to work with students from all walks of life, and I have grown and learned from each of my experiences.
Did I mention I ♥ teaching? This love of teaching is because of my students; they enrich my life, and I strive to do the same for them. I try to inspire students to love learning as much as I do. My love of learning has led me to earn my National Board Certification in English Language Arts: Adolescence and Young Adulthood and subsequently an MS in Curriculum and Instruction.
I encourage all my students to always try their best, and I am always willing to work with students to help them learn. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or feel as though you need to talk or get help.
