Lewis-Palmer School District 38 is proud to serve over 300 students in our English Learners (EL) program. These students have languages other than English in their home or background, and are in the process of developing and refining their academic English proficiency for success in school.
Every school site offers standards-based English Language Development with trained, qualified EL instructional staff as a part of the regular school day. Students develop their academic speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English while being supported with the core content curriculum.
The acronym changed from ELL (English Language Learner) to EL (English Learner). The LPSD EL population is 305 strong representing over 40 different languages ranging from Spanish to Tigrinya. Please let me know if you have any questions or need further information.
