Mr. David "Drew" Stevenson
PE Teacher
I'm a native New York'er (Lafayette - near Syracuse), went to college in Virginia (Roanoke College), and then spent nearly 20 years in Chicago. While in Chicago I "grew up" and spent time working for the Chicago Blackhawk Hockey Team and starting my own businesses (Owner of a gym - I have been a long time Strength & Conditioning Coach & Youth Lacrosse Club program). My wife and I, along with our two kids (attend Kilmer Elementary), moved to Colorado in 2017. My wife is a physician with Centura and previously I spent three (3) years teaching PE at Monument Academy Middle and High School.
Growing up I played nearly every sport I could get involved in, from team sports to individual challenges like marathons and triathlons. Later on in my 20's, I ran the Chicago Marathon and multiple Olympic and Half Ironman Distance Triathlons. I have coached lacrosse mainly since graduating college and still play, enjoying my time with old friends at the "Old Man" lacrosse tournament in Vail every summer. Currently, I coach my own youth lacrosse program, COSMO Lacrosse, and still train a variety of athletes and weekend warriors to help them improve their health, increase strength and athletic performance.
Prior to moving to Colorado I also started two collegiate level men's lacrosse programs and now volunteer coaching local lacrosse, basketball and area hockey programs - depending on what my kids get involved in! I hope to bring the joy of sport/activity/physical challenges to my PE programming, including general PE classes as well as LPMS's Yoga/Strength & Conditioning class.
