Degrees and Certifications:
Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Reading from UCCS
Mrs. Victoria Garcia
Hello everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous summer and are as excited as I am about this new school year! Let me introduce myself.
I am Victoria Garcia and have been teaching since 1999. I have taught 4th and 5th grades in Harrison School District for the last 18 years and I am thrilled to now be apart of the Kilmer family as their new 5th grade teacher!
I grew up in Colorado close to Woodland Park and attended Manitou Springs schools. Both of my parents were teachers so I love following the tradition. I attended McMurry University in Texas and received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 1999. I went on to receive my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Reading from UCCS in 2005. I have been married since 1999 and I have two wonderful children. My daughter is a junior at Palmer High School and my son is in 8th grade at North Middle School in District 11. I love to teach reading and was a Battle of the Books coach at my previous school for six years. I am an outdoor fanatic and spend the winters skiing and my summers camping and hiking. I have two cats and a dog that we rescued.
I look forward to building relationships with and getting to know my students! My students inspire me to continue to learn and grow as a teacher and I invite all the things my students teach me as well!
The best way to get in touch with me will be through email, firstname.lastname@example.org. I will try my best to get back with you within a day. Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Let's have an amazing year!
