Mr. Daniel Russell

Yearbook/Newspaper/Digital Photo/LPTV

Welcome to my class and I am so excited to get to know you and your student. This is my sixth year teaching and my fourth at Lewis-Palmer Middle School. I worked at Falcon Middle School for two years teaching both 7th and 8th-grade social studies before coming to LPMS. I graduated from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) with my degree in History in 2016. I have had the opportunity to travel all over the world to experience many different cultures and I bring those experiences into my classroom. The world is much bigger than our little bubble and I want to encourage my students to explore as much of the world around them as they can.

I also had the opportunity to work for the Gazette's smaller local newspapers (The Cheyenne & Woodmen Edition) as a photojournalist covering local sports. I received a minor in photojournalism and operated my own photography business for several years.

My hope is to create a positive working relationship between myself, the students, and their parents. I hope that I can build your trust to show you that I truly have your student's best interest in mind. If you ever feel like you are unclear please do not hesitate to send me an email. I will make sure to give you a call back as soon as I can to help in any way that I can.

I am also a track coach in the district and have had the opportunity to work with some amazing athletes (State record holders & state champions) all over Colorado through club track. This year I will hopefully be coaching football and softball at LPMS and continuing to coach track at the club/high school level!
