Gifted and Talented Facilitator

Welcome! I am so thrilled to be joining the Kilmer Family. I have been teaching since 2012, and I'm beyond excited to be teaching my passion, gifted and talented students, this year! I am also the coach for Battle of the Books. I started volunteering with Battle in middle school because my mom was a librarian at a local elementary school and needed help. I have been hooked ever since!

I grew up in Colorado Springs, and I am in love with this area! I am such a mountain girl at heart. I have a dog, Luna, who is the cutest dog in the world. I am a Harry Potter enthusiast! In fact, my dog is named after Luna Lovegood, of course! In my spare time you can find me reading, running (at a very slow pace), playing trivia, and rocking out to country music!

In 2011 I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado. (Go Bears!) Once I began my career, I noticed that my true passion was for the gifted and talented population. I went back to school, and in 2014 graduated from UCCS (Go Mountain Lions!) with my Master's of Arts in Gifted and Talented Education.

If you need to contact me for any reason, please e-mail me at kcoomes@lewispalmer.org. I will do my best to respond within 24 hours during school business hours.

I look forward to a great school year filled with learning, laughter, and success!
