TOSA - Gifted and Talented Education

My name is Annette Bass.  I am excited to now be a part of the Lewis-Palmer School District, as the Gifted and Talented TOSA.  I will serve as the GT district facilitator half time, and a GT teacher at Bear Creek Elementary half time.

I have always been passionate that every student should receive the education that will help them best meet their potential, and I recognize that no matter what level a student is, they should be challenged appropriately.  I am dedicated to making sure that each child has what they need to successfully meet their potential.

I earned my both my Bachelor of Arts Degree, and Master of Education Degree from Adams State College in Alamosa, CO. My Master's Degree is in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Gifted and Talented Education, and I am endorsed in Gifted and Talented Education through the Colorado Department of Education.  I started teaching in 1990 and have taught every grade from Preschool through Fifth (with the exception of second grade).  I did take some time off to stay home with my youngest two children and did home daycare/preschool.

I grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and miss it sometimes.  I do love my green chile!  I have lived in many places since then, including Nevada and Missouri.  I have lived in Fountain, CO since 2001, and now live in Colorado Springs.  I have four sons.  The oldest is 27, and both he and his wife are Army Captains. Next is my college junior attending Montana State in Bozeman, Montana.  I also have a Freshman and an 8th grader here at Lewis-Palmer.

I understand how important it is that we all work together to help our children become who they are meant to be.  If you need to reach me, the best way to contact me is through email because I will be working at different sites.  I will try to get back to you within 24 hours if it is a weekday.

My email is:    abass@lewispalmer.org      Please let me know how I can help you.
