Mrs. Laura Stamp
Gifted and Talented Education Facilitator
Mrs. Stamp has been a college teaching assistant, a public school teacher, an education specialist for gifted and talented children, a master teacher trainer, a retail chain customer service trainer, an event producer, and a small business owner. She has presented to educators, students of all ages and professional women’s organizations. She loves reading, psychology and brain studies, the fine and decorative arts, food and cooking, creative problem solving, and learning. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Sheridan College and the University of Wyoming and did advanced studies in Gifted and Talented Education from the University of North Texas and Texas Women’s University. While teaching in Germany for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools, she did a myriad of coursework at various universities and even did a course at the Vegetarian Cookery School of England! In addition, Laura spent 10 years with the women’s international service organization, Zonta, where she held numerous leadership positions. Through Zonta, she became the local founding chair of the Glass Slipper Ball Featuring the Best of the Chefs and Wine Purveyors and has helped with its production for 10 years. This event creates awareness and funding for local and global women’s initiatives including the fight against human trafficking and other forms of violence against women and girls and has raised over a million dollars nationwide. Laura also started her own business, Cooks with Wine, teaching cooking classes and doing cooking demos for a local home builder. Married in 1994, Laura and Dirk have two sons: Jason and Jean-Luc.
