Each school year, as required by state law, a group of parents, community representatives, the PRHS principal and teaching staff representatives form the PRHS Advisory Council. The Advisory Council provides parents, the community, teaching staff and school administration a forum to monitor and discuss education at PRHS, share ideas, review policies and provide advice to school administration. A partial list of topics discussed includes: PRHS student and school performance, the PRHS school improvement plan, school initiatives, the school calendar, the educational environment at PRHS, policies, parent involvement, school safety and the PRHS budget. Notably, the Advisory Council is an advisory group, not a policy-making committee. Its goal is to provide a forum for continual collaboration in order to monitor, enhance and improve the quality of education for our Palmer Ridge High School students.
