Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Jessica Jones

Welcome to Resource Room! My name is Jessica Jones and I am a moderate support needs teacher for Ray E. Kilmer Elementary School.

I have a bachelor's degree in both elementary education and special education, with a reading concentration, from Geneva College. I have taught both first grade and fifth grade, in Harrison School District 2, for the past two years. I pursued teaching because of my love I have for teaching martial arts, but also on a personal level. I grew up with a father who has a reading disability. He struggled with finding a strategy to help him read as a child and even as an adult. My father is my role model and my supporter in life. Seeing his struggles and knowing how he felt led me to pursue this profession.

In my classroom you will see patience, kindness, compassion and multiple strategies to reach all students' needs. I am looking forward to working with each student to find the strategies that work best for them to grow in and out of the classroom to fulfill their goals.

It's going to be a fantastic year. Whenever you need to reach me please contact me by email or (719) 433 - 6801.
