This year I will be teaching Math 7, Pre-Algebra, and Math Lab.
Hi Everyone,
Welcome to my Math 7 class. This year we will have a Distant Learning and Hybrid Block schedule for the school year. This will be a different year of learning filled with fun, new adventures, and a different way of learning.
I grew up in Douglas County, graduated from Douglas County High School. After many moves with the military, my hope was to return to Colorado. This is my 26th year teaching! Wow, does time fly by fast! I've taught elementary: 1st, 2nd, and 5th grades. Middle school: I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades Math, Science, Social Studies, and Exploratory. I am highly certified to teach up to 8th grade in the following content areas: Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Technology. However, the majority of my teaching career has been in middle school math.
My family is very busy and growing up fast. I have two boys, the oldest is head account and the second is a freshman in college studying geology. I also have two nieces who are very close to me, oldest works as a civil engineer, and the youngest is a junior in college studying articuture.
In my free time, I enjoy: kayaking, hiking, traveling, and, just enjoying life as it comes. I Have one dog, her name is Sage. She loves to hike and kayak with me, but mostly enjoys chasing squirrels and rabbits. I also have five chickens that run around in my backyard, and no I do not live on a farm.
The best part of my day is connecting with kids. Every day is a new adventure when teaching: we laugh, we play, we work hard, we have deep discussions, we have heart to heart talks, we make new friends, we rely on each other, and much more! Watching kids go through so many changes and watching them learn and understand something makes my whole day worthwhile. Connecting with students is the most important part of my day.
If you should need to get ahold of me, the best way is through email. Please allow up to 24 hours during the workweek for me to return an email. My time is interactive with students and my email is not on all day! If there is an emergency, please contact the office.
