This is my 6th year as a Reading Interventionist at Palmer Lake Elementary and my 13th year of teaching overall. My prior teaching experience was as a classroom teacher  in 1st and 3rd grade in Montgomery County, MD. I am an avid reader and love the opportunity Reading Intervention gives me to help children develop their skills in reading.It is a privilege to be part of the great team of teachers at PLES who collaborate, communicate and care deeply about your child.

I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from Taylor University in Indiana, then did graduate work at Trinity University in Washington, DC. Most recently, I completed the Literacy Intervention Specialist Certification Program through the Colorado Literacy and Learning Center. I received my Certified Academic Language Practitioner certification (CALP) in December 2021 and am working toward Certified Academic Language Therapist. I am certified to teach Take Flight, a comprehensive, ungraded, structured, and sequential curriculum that utilizes multisensory techniques for basic instruction in reading, writing, and spelling.

My husband Jerry and I have been married for 29 years. We have 3 wonderful adult sons and now 2 daughters-in-laws. We love to spend time with!
