  • NoteFor this 2022-23 school year, Ms. Brown will be job sharing with Ms. Breazzano who will be working only 3 days/week:  Tuesday-Thursday.  Mrs. Brown will be working part-time GT and also teaching AP Psychology classes.  She will be at PRHS daily.

Welcome. I have been with D38 as a high school GT Facilitator since 2004 and truly enjoy supporting our GT students' well being as they navigate high school and prepare for their post-graduate plans. This includes collaboration with counselors, teachers and administration to ensure we meet the needs to program for the Whole Child which includes not only academics, but also personal/social aspects of development. Ms. Sarah Brown

This will be my ninth year teaching and my sixth year at PRHS. I hold both a social studies and gifted and talented certification and have taught Advanced Placemenet classes for my entire career. I love teaching and building relationships with students. I work to support not only students' educational success, but also their social and emotional well-being through collaboration and creative problem-solving.

  • Gifted and Talented (GT) students are those who show exceptional performance and outstanding abilities, or who demonstrate obvious potential for in-depth advanced academic programs. These students have been identified using a body of assessment evidence. PRHS is committed to providing an educational program that recognizes the unique abilities and educational needs of gifted and talented students and provides appropriate differentiated services and programs to encourage positive character development, high-level thinking and creative productivity. Project-based, student-directed learning through Mind Works class and advanced Independent Study courses is also encouraged to support our GT students.     NOTE: Course offerings from the Gifted and Talented Program are open to ANY PRHS STUDENT who meets the requirements. You do not need to be in the Gifted and Talented Program to enroll.

    The ADVANCED LEARNING PLAN (ALP) at PRHS is required to be updated and reviewed annually to continue receiving individualized GT programming support; however, this is a student-directed process at the high school level, allowing students to gain confidence and autonomy as they engage with their education.   The ALP is found in each student's Naviance account.  PLEASE EMAIL MS. BREAZZANO (dbreazzano@lewispalmer.org) when you complete your ALP.  Naviance does not alert her.

    Grade level GT meetings to provide updates and help students prepare to complete their ALP will be announced throughout the year.  Freshman GT Orientation is in September, the Sophomore meeting is held in November, and the Junior meeting is held early in March.  Individual consultations will be set up to personalize programming. Parents are encouraged to attend. Seniors will meet with the GT Facilitator as requested to assist with post-graduate plans.  The GT Facilitator collaborates with counselors, administration, teachers, and parents to ensure that each GT student's academic and personal/social needs are being addressed.
