Although this year will look a lot different than previous years, I can assure you that the students' safety is my priority. Kids have to wear masks during library. They get their hands sanitized upon arrival and departure of the library. All returned books will be quarantined for 3 days before they go back on the shelves.

Here is a little bit about myself: I am originally from Germany and came to the US in 1996. Due to my husband's military career, we lived in North Carolina, Kansas, and the last 7 year of his career in Boeblingen, Germany. We moved to Monument in 2006 after my husband's retirement. We have a daughter who is a teacher. I worked in Munich as an oral surgeon assistant for 12 years and an office manager of a fitness center for 8 years.

I started as a volunteer at Grace Best Elementary School in 2007 in the classroom and library where I worked side by side with teachers and librarians. I was hired in 2008 as the building aide and in 2010 as a library para. This is my 11th year in the library and I love reading to the kids from all different genres and teach them how to use library resources. My goal is to keep the love of reading books alive. As a native German, I also teach students some German basics (3rd -6th grade).

I enjoy reading, cooking, walking with our German Shepherd, playing the piano, quilting, learning new languages and traveling. I am very grateful to be part of the BCES family.
