This is my 2nd year at PWES, and I am looking forward to a great year. I have 6 years of experience as a school counselor, and two years of social studies teaching experience. I also was employed in the technology field for several years. I love working with children and helping support students to reach their full potential. I am married, and we have a two year old little girl and a four year old little boy. As far as hobbies and interests, I enjoy mountain and road biking, I am an avid music lover and musician, I love to read, and I also enjoy running and horseback riding.
This year, I am teaching Sanford Harmony Curriculum during guidance lessons. Sanford Harmony focuses on building healthy relationships, critical thinking skills and problem solving, empathy, and inclusion. This curriculum is taught at many of our elementaries in Lewis-Palmer, as well as many elementaries throughout the United States... https://www.sanfordharmony.org/ In addition, as far as students meeting with me, I can meet with students based off teacher, parent, or student request. I do not provide therapy as a school counselor, but I can provide brief initial counseling and resources if needed for students.
I am expecting in March, so I will be on maternity leave for the remainder of the year (after March). As a part time counselor at Prairie Winds, I am typically at the school on Mondays and Thursdays with a rotating Wednesday.
