School Nurse

Lewis-Palmer High School and Lewis-Palmer Middle School

Hi, my name is Donna Meier, Lewis-Palmer School District Nurse Consultant, currently covering the health needs of approximately 2000 students attending school at Lewis-Palmer Middle, Lewis-Palmer High and the Home Schoool Enrichment Academy. I began working for Lewis-Palmer School District in 2007. During my time with the school district I have provided support to students in grades preschool through transition program (ages 3-21 years of age).

I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO. I have 30 years total experience in nursing with a background in orthopedics, home health, hospice, case management, utilization management and discharge planning all in hospital affiliated facilities prior to employment at Lewis-Palmer School District.

I also have two children, one who is a graduate of Lewis-Palmer High School and the other who is currently a student at Lewis-Palmer High School. I feel this enables me to better understand your student and family needs from the parent perspective.

Please feel free to contact me regarding any health related concerns your child may have that could potentially impact them during their school day whether from a safety or academic perspective. I will act as your liaison in explaining how your child's health condition could impact their performance at school and provide teaching and support to your child and staff.

My contact information is to the left and email is the preferable method to reach me as I am in different sites throughout the district on a daily basis with cell phone coverage being spotty in some locations. Please feel free to contact me throughout the school year with any concerns, questions or changes in your child's health status that could impact them at school.

I look forward to working with you and your child to promote a successful and safe academic setting.
