The mission of the Palmer Ridge High School Library is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. Our goal is to nurture critical thinking and create life-long readers. We also value the Social Emotional Learning of Palmer Ridge students and strive to provide a safe and inclusive environment where we share the love of reading with the students and staff of PRHS.
This mission is accomplished:
- by providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats
- by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas
- by working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.

Mrs. Kari Stevenson
Hello! My name is Kari Stevenson and this is my fifth year at Palmer Ridge. This is my 12th year as a Teacher-Librarian but my 15th in School Libraries. I graduated in 2011 a Master's of Library and Information Science (with an emphasis in School Libraries) from Dominican University in River Forest, IL. I received my Professional Colorado Teaching Certificate in School Libraries K-12 in the Spring of 2016.
Before working in Colorado, I spent many years in the Putnam City Public School District in the Oklahoma City area. However, I grew up on the Front Range and am excited to be back in Colorado.
My greatest passion as an educator lies in cultivating a love of reading and research in my students. Finding the right book for the right student and/or seeing the excitement in a student as they discover something new is what makes my job one that I love.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions and I hope that we have a great year here at Palmer Ridge!
