General K-6 Music

  • The Prairie Winds Elementary Music K-6 Program curriculum is based on the 4 Colorado Music Standards: Expression of Music, Creation of Music, Theory of Music, and Aesthetic Valuation of Music.  When combined with our responsive classroom practices, we have a blast!  I believe music at the elementary level should allow students to "experience" the joy music can have in their lives!  We work with instruments (drums, keyboards, xylophones, hand instruments, etc.), sing, dance, study composers and genres, and much more!  Our school is home to the Prairie Winds Soaring Hawk Choir and Prairie Winds Beginning Band!
