Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Lisa Smith
Hello! My name is Lisa Smith and I am the Beginning Band teacher at Lewis-Palmer Elementary, Kilmer Elementary and Prairie Winds Elementary. I am excited to share my passion for performance based music with your students - one of my favorite things to see is the excitement in the eyes of my students when they can play a recognizable piece on their instrument for the first time! I have a Bachelor of Music Degree in Orchestral Performance from Arizona State University, and received my graduate Music Education Certification from the University of Denver. I have played French Horn professionally in Arizona, Florida and Colorado in Orchestras, Brass Quintets and as a freelance musician. I am also a member of the locally famous Monument Hill Brass Quintet. I look forward to sharing my love of music with your students and hopefully connecting them to the beauty of making music as my teachers did for me when I was young.
When not creating beauty through music, I enjoy the natural beauty of Colorado's outdoors. I spend my time with my family running, biking and swimming as well as skiing and hiking through the Colorado mountains.
Since I teach at several schools, the best form of communicating with me is via email - firstname.lastname@example.org

High School Band Tutoring
Band Tutoring is an opportunity provided by our Palmer Ridge High School band students to help out younger students. Meetings are Mondays from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. If students would like to attend for tutoring, they MUST email the club by the Friday before the Monday they plan to attend (email@example.com). This is to ensure that there is a tutor there for your child.
