Art Class at Kilmer!
I look forward to doing art with your child in a positive, fun environment. Please remember to have them wear old clothes on art day as we have a tendency to get messy. My goal in the art room is to provide your student with many opportunities to explore a variety of mediums and expose your child to the importance of art in our world. Being different is good and thinking "outside the box" and taking risks in our art, is even better. So I am excited about another year of celebrating our imaginations and making life more colorful!

This will be my 8th year at Kilmer and everyone has truly been amazing. Your children have done incredible work and I look forward to seeing their accomplishments this fall. Being an art educator at the elementary level for the past 18 years has given me many valuable opportunities. For example, I have participated in many community art shows, attended art workshops, developed art curriculum, mentored and more. Watching the students excitement to create art is what inspires me most about teaching. Every child should have the opportunity to explore many different mediums, express their emotions and celebrate cultural differences.
While adhering to the Colorado State Standards, your children will have the opportunity to produce art, learn about various cultures, the elements of art, artists', and a variety of techniques. It is my top priority to create an environment in which the students feel good about themselves and the work they produce. When kids create art it makes them creative in all aspects of life. Through art, students are encouraged to explore different solutions and express themselves in unique ways. These skills will help them to excel later in life, whatever their profession.
I look forward to another fun year at Kilmer Elementary!
