National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

  • NJHS "The National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929."

    ~From the NJHS national website.

At Lewis-Palmer Middle School, the NJHS chapter consists of 8th grade students only. These students are selected during the 4th quarter grading period of seventh grade. Students are invited to be considered for membership based on a grade point average of 3.75 or higher. Once invited, students who are interested will complete paperwork sharing their extracurricular involvement including community service, leadership positions, athletics, clubs, etc. Students who are selected for membership will be inducted in May of the 7th grade year.
