Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Coopman

Hello and welcome to 7th Grade Science! My name is Jennifer Coopman. This will be my 12th year teaching and my 10th year in LPSD. I had the pleasure to teach at Palmer Lake Elementary for 7 years and moved to LPMS several years ago. When I began college at the University of Northern Iowa, I was interested in becoming an elementary school teacher, but as I progressed through school, I fell in love with science. I chose to complete additional coursework to become licensed in both elementary education and 7th-12th grade science.

I have lived in Colorado most of my life and attended school k-12 here in the Lewis-Palmer School District. Coincidentally, I am now teaching in the exact same classroom that I took 6th grade science in! Both my husband and I are graduates of LPHS, and after leaving Monument for a few years after graduation, we returned to raise our family. We have three sons, one daughter, and two dogs. Our 3 oldest children attend school at LPES, LPMS and LPHS respectively and our youngest son will start school in a couple years!

I look forward to working with parents this year to help our kiddos grow academically, socially, and emotionally.  My goal is not only to teach children academics, but also to help prepare them for success throughout their lives. To do this will involve participation from all people involved in our kiddos' lives. Please feel free to contact me at any time. Email is the fastest way to get ahold of me, but I am available by phone before or after school.
