Mrs. Kelly Blake, Visual Arts

I have had the privilege of teaching art in the LPSD for the last 8 years, and I'm excited to start my 2nd year at Bear Creek Elementary. I also teach classes at Bemis School of Art. I'm an artist, teacher, a mother of twin sons (juniors at PRHS) and a forever student. I love that I have a career that uses all my passions. I grew up in rural southeastern Indiana and east Tennessee, where I developed my love of art, nature and the outdoors. I moved to Colorado after graduating college in 1995. I live in the Larkspur area with my husband, our two sons and our many animals.

As an artist and educator, I care deeply about the value of an education in the arts. My goal is to provide my students with an environment that is safe, challenging and promotes creative thinking. I strive to create lessons that guide students to closely observe the world, uncover the interconnectedness of all things, discover inspiration, problem solve, be creative, take risks, develop craftsmanship and give their best effort.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to volunteer in the art room. The best way to contact me is by email. I will respond to your email within 24 hours.

I look forward to another fun and creative year at Bear Creek Elementary!
