It’s been a wonderful and productive school year. I can’t thank everyone enough for the endless hours of volunteering, reading, organizing, donating, and doing whatever was necessary to support students. Special thanks to our PTO who went above and beyond the call of duty to provide whatever was necessary to enrich school life for both our students and our staff. Whether it was the book fair, holiday shop, Sweetheart Ball, Movie Night, Try-it Tuesday, or the classroom parties, each event was both memorable and fun for our students. Additionally, our staff members appreciated the special touches added to Teacher Appreciation Week, Parent Teacher Conference Meals, the monthly surprises from the Gratitude Committee and were even treated to a birthday treat!
A final word to Prairie Winds students: Thank you for all your hard work throughout the school year. I am so honored to be your principal; you make me proud to be a Prairie Winds Hawk. You keep me laughing and young at heart. I am grateful for your joy, astute insights, and amazing talents. Best wishes to our graduating sixth graders, whom I will miss greatly—please come back and visit.
Until next school year, here’s wishing you love, laughter, and learning.
In closing, I’d like to share a poem for our wonderful students;
A Principal's Hope
It’s time to say good-bye;
This is the end of the year.
I think I have something in my eye…
No, it’s just a tear.
I’ve watched you learn and grow
and change from day to day.
I hope that you have come to know
Something to guide your way.
So I will treasure happy memories
as I send you out the door,
Hoping you have the expertise
To handle what life holds in store.
