This school year (2019-20) will be my 15th year of teaching and coaching in District 38. This year will be my eighth year at Palmer Ridge High School as a Physical Education / Health Teacher and Head Football Coach. It is an honor to be part of a staff that works so hard to help each student experience success by building strong personal relationships and striving for excellence in all we do. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in 2004 at the University of Wisconsin- River Falls, an NCAA Division 3 school, where I played football for 5 years. I earned my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Adams State University in 2012. My wife and I live in Monument and have two children that attend Kilmer Elementary: Eli (11 years old), and Natalie (10 years old).
I believe that teachers and coaches must set high standards and expectations for students and student-athletes. In order for students and student-athletes to make progress and truly reach their full potential, it is critical to consistently reevaluate and increase the standards and expectations. I firmly believe that the key to students experiencing success in school, in extracurricular activities, and in the community is to effectively (and consistently) communicate expectations to students and families.
