Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Kristen Los
English & Creative Writing Teacher
I was born and raised in Beaverton, Oregon, graduating from the University of Oregon with a Journalism degree in 2001. In 2003, I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in secondary English Language Arts from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore. I taught high school English for 7 years in Sacramento, California before returning to my hometown for a couple years. During that time, I added a second teaching endorsement in Library Media from George Fox University in Newberg, Ore.
I moved to Colorado in August 2012 to begin teaching at Palmer Ridge High School. My classes this year will include English 3, Creative Writing I, and Creative Writing II. Additionally, I teach the LPSD online high school Creative Writing I class that our district offers.
In addition to being a teacher, I am also a writer. I have five books published under my pen name, Kristen Sheley, a young adult series called Partners in Time about teenage time travelers. I am currently working on a new novel outside the series. During my spare time, I enjoy reading, history, traveling, spending time with my family, and exploring the beautiful Colorado area.
