Mr. Kyle Olgren

Ceramics and 3D Art Teacher

Art is a language that speaks to everyone, and one that everyone can speak. It links us to the past and opens doors to the future. All students deserve an education in the Arts. Everyone has a different reason for creating art, but we are all joined by the fact that ART IS IMPORTANT! It builds imagination, creates avenues for self expression, makes history come to life, and builds self esteem. It develops fine motor skills, enhances organizational skills, provides satisfaction in creating something by hand, and helps students appreciate diversity. I encourage everyone to join the world of art. There is a place for everyone.

On a personal note, I grew up in Monument, and am a Lewis-Palmer graduate. I attended Fort Lewis College in beautiful Durango, Colorado, where I earned my BA in Art with a concentration in Ceramics. After graduation I moved to Douglas County where I taught Art for 5 years, and obtained my MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University. I returned to Monument and joined Palmer Ridge in 2011, and have had a fantastic time teaching Ceramics and 3D Art to PR's amazing students.
